Accessibility statement
CAZ Labs wants it-alien.de to be usable by everyone – regardless of disability, assistive technology or device. Our benchmark is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, which the European standard EN 301 549 also refers to.
Conformance status
This website was developed to the requirements of WCAG 2.1 AA and tested by ourselves. It has not yet been audited by an independent body. We believe the website largely conforms to the requirements.
What we have done
- A clear structure with headings, landmarks and a “Skip to content” link.
- Everything can be operated by keyboard; focus is clearly visible.
- Italian passages are marked up as Italian so screen readers pronounce them correctly. Italian headings come with an English translation.
- Text contrast meets a ratio of at least 4.5:1, or 3:1 for large text.
- Animations respect the “reduce motion” system setting and can be stopped at any time via the accessibility menu at the bottom left.
- The accessibility menu offers larger text, high contrast, a plain typeface, more spacing and highlighted links. It uses no third parties and no cookies.
- Fonts and scripts are served from our own server.
Known limitations
- The twelve design examples are illustrations. Their content is not read aloud but described in each caption.
- In “High contrast” mode the illustrations stay in colour; text and controls are shown in high contrast.
